Use This Tool BEFORE Compression

In this quick Mix Tip, I'll explain how you can use Clip Gain to even out the dynamics of a vocal track before you slap a compressor on it! This will produce a consistent dynamic with your vocal without adding the distortion or harshness that compressors can add. If you're expecting your compressors to do all of the heavy lifting, you're setting yourself up for a heavy mix.
