Episode 84: UK police use Israeli spyware
First aired on 02 September 2023
Israeli spy firm Cellebrite has contracts with the British police. Former British MP Chris Williamson looks at whether the firm is accessing secret surveillance data. His expert guests analyze his findings. That's next, here on Press TV, in Palestine Declassified.
Is British government helping Israel spy firm Cellebrite access police and security surveillance data? The 2030 roadmap for UK-Israel bilateral relations, that was formally signed off on the 21 March 2023, included a reference to the UK-Israel Tech Hub that was established in 2011.
The roadmap boasted that the Hub had “facilitated over 250 partnerships.” One of those partnerships is with the Israeli tech company Cellebrite, which sells its technology to the British Security Services and British police.
ItÂ’'s a curious arrangement because it seems Cellebrite may be able to access the information that the British Security Services and the British police obtain, with Cellebrite's products.
