How big is Jupiter
A Giant in the Solar System: Jupiter is four times as wide as Earth, which is approximately 150,000 kilometres round. Jupiter's gravity is also very strong and it has a gaseous atmosphere that spans more than five times the planet's radius in height. This means that even if you could run around its entire circumference, you would only touch the top of its cloud layer. With this significant mass and a dense, swirling atmosphere, Jupiter is able to maintain a quite stable orbit around the sun.
So how big is Jupiter actually? Well, Jupiter has a diameter of around 142.984 km / 88.846 mi at the equator, and a diameter of about 133.708 km/ 83.082 mi at the poles.
