Skullcrushers have been & ALWAYS WILL BE a staple for tricep training, but here’s why you should try do them with cables instead of the traditional barbell:
·Barbells tend to cause elbow discomfort because your hands are fixed on the bar, preventing natural elbow flare
·Cables offer a better resistance profile
·Each arm can work independently, if you struggle with R-L imbalance (yes, you can do this with DBs too)
·You don’t have to worry about a bar ACTUALLY falling on your face…

These are a GREAT addition to your arm/tricep training if you don’t already incorporate skull crushers, but there’s no need to do both because they’re very similar. I would recommend going with the cable variation since you’re able to setup the exercise in a way that’s more comfortable for you, but just pick your favorite variant and progress over time! Just wanted to share a fun exercise that I’ve been messing around with!
