September 5th will see the return of kids to school in Lethbridge.

New this year is the city’s decision to harmonize school and playground zones to 30 kilometres an hour from 7:30am to 9pm daily.

Lethbridge Police are reminding motorists to slow their roll when they go through school zones.

According to LPS fines for speeding through school zones including 10 kilometres an hour over the speed limit could net you a fine of around $100.

Police will also be conducting enforcement to address distracted driving, drivers failing to yield the right of way to pedestrians, parking violations and illegal U-turns.
