If Life Is Plan A Then Why The Need For A Plan B Death

If the genius who created Plan A which is what we call Life was so intelligent then why the need for a Plan B Death? Was that the plan all along knowing that Plan A would be a complete failure so there was a backup plan which is called Death but if this thing was so smart did it know that Plan A would never work and Plan B was the real plan?
