Fear will have you make bad choices

I was living in a place of fear.

Fear that I couldn’t keep the bills paid.

Fear that I couldn’t make ends meet without having to ask for help.

So, in desperation I started to grab on to any idea that I could to get the results, to get the money that I wanted and dreamed about. So, I signed up for one of those free realtor workshops, I went to a 2-day event and got sold into investing thousands of dollars into short and wholesaling real estate.

What experience did I have in that?

None.

But they assured me they would help and support me until I got my money back (all while they took a ton of money in).

Then it hit me. This isn’t what I wanted to do.

But I had made an investment into something that I was stuck in.

Then I spent years paying off that investment, ashamed of the fool that I had been in that moment of buying into something that I had no passion or intention to do - just out of desperation.

Desperation causes people to do things that do not make sense.

Just like I got into debt because of a foolish idea that was not backed by the direction of life I was going - you might have found your life going in the same way.

The desperation of trying to get him to understand you and so you lower your standards.

The frantic efforts to keep the abuser safe from the police so that he doesn’t lose his job.

The fear of getting found out by people who only care about you and as a result, you cycle back into shame more and more.

Fear will drive you and make you run from the truth.

Desperation will encourage decisions that are not sound or wise.

Take a moment today to look at the aspects in your life to see where fear and desperation have free hold.

What do you need to do to reclaim that part of your life?
