Daily prayer is like night vision - it helps you see things you might miss such as God's activity and generosity towards us. It also helps us notice enemy tactics because we have an enemy that is constantly scheming to throw us off track and bring us down and away from God. St. Peter tells us to discipline ourselves and stay awake because the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8).
