Expect spiritual resistance to fasting because the devil does not want you to get closer to God.

Eve and Adam ate themselves out of the presence of God.
Sodom…. Not giving to the poor. Not praying (pride). Fullness of full (gluttony) (Ezek. 16v49–50)
Esua ate himself out of his birthright. (Gen. 25v34)

Fasting is abstaining from food for spiritual reasons.
Fasting is trading the bowl for a blessing. Temporary for eternal. Physical for spiritual. Visible for invisible.

What Fasting does:
1. Increases my spiritual weight not worth.
2. Fasting is the biblical way of humbling yourself.
3. Fasting has a domino effect on your prayer, pursuit, and purity.
4. Fasting restored hunger for God.
5. Fasting defeats the flesh.
6. Fasting which promotes self-denial.
7. Fasting exposes unhealthy relationship with food
8. Fasting has physical benefits.
9. Fasting helps to build a resilient mind.
10. Fasting moves you to God’s perfect will.
