“Shut up!”: Ukraine's foreign minister snaps at critics of slow counter-offensive against Russia

During an informal European Union (EU) Thursday meeting in Toledo, Spain, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba demanded that critics of Kyiv's tactics in its counter-offensive against Russia's invasion “shut up,” saying that they were spitting in the faces of Ukrainian soldiers.

"Criticizing the slow pace of (the) counter-offensive equals spitting into the face of (the) Ukrainian soldier who sacrifices his life every day, moving forward and liberating one kilometre of Ukrainian soil after another," Kuleba said.

"I would recommend all critics to shut up, come to Ukraine and try to liberate one square centimetre by themselves," Kuleba said, standing alongside Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares.

Addressing ministers separately, Kuleba pointed out that his country doesn’t only need more weapons in its ongoing war, but also armoured ambulances to evacuate wounded soldiers.
