WHY SHOULD WOMEN DRESS MODESTLY?

Does a woman who wears skimpy clothes cheapen herself? Are feminists right that being promiscuious is liberating, so wearing provocative clothing wins her the respect of men (unless they're "toxic" and controlling)?
