As we continue our teaching series on the sin problem, diagnosis and cure, we've been discussing the doctrine of sin from Genesis.

The Cure for Sin
We're not just leaving anyone in sin, we're showing you that through Christ you can be redeemed, delivered and really become dead to sin, that's what the Scripture says, that we're dead to sin.

So we're in that part of it now and I think that many believers have never really been taught on the doctrine of sin, not that we need to emphasize it all the time but it is a very important doctrine. It's connected to salvation, soteriology, the doctrine of the church, ecclesiology, and just theology in general.

Forgiven and Made Alive
Now let me read, we have been forgiven and made alive. We are alive unto righteousness. We were once dead in sin but now we are dead to sin.

Now that's the transition. You can be dead in sin, the wages of sin is death, and you can be dead to sin. The Bible says that how can we continue in sin that Grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein?

And so Grace is the solution for sin. Grace is not a license to sin. We overcome sin through Grace. We no longer have to yield to sin, we are now to yield ourselves to God.

Do Not Let Sin Deceive You
Sin can be deceitful. This is the very nature of the devil. We are not to continue in sin. Sin should not be your master, sin should not dominate your life. Sin is no longer your master, sin no longer has power over you unless you yield to its power.

Sin is no longer has a claim over your life. This is a truth that needs to be embraced and live out in a believer's life. The truth concerning sin and its cure is important to walk in.

People who claim to know God and yet live in habitual sin are in deception. Be not deceived, God is not mocked, whatever a man sows that shall he also reap. John calls them liars.

Faith in God and habitual lifestyle of sin is incompatible. The scriptures give a list of sins that disqualify people from inheriting the kingdom of God. We should not be deceived when it comes to sin, there is no inheritance to the unrighteous.

Do Not Obey Sin
You're not to be a slave to sin, not to be a servant to sin. You're not to be tricked or deceived by sin. You're not to obey it, you're not to yield to it. But you to reckon yourself to be dead unto sin and alive unto God. This is truth that needs to be taught and embraced today.

I want you to believe this for your life and I want you to to walk in it all the days of your life.
