Aquatic Wetline W/ Aqua Alex: All About Vieja Synspilum

It's not to often that I keep Central American Cichlids in my home aquarium. When I do it's usually firemouth or Jack Dempsey cichlids or something ridiculously aggressive like a Jaguar cichlid or Red Devil. There is ONE Central American Cichlid that I have kept before and LOVED! It is a well-mannered colorful and docile Vieja known as the Synspilim cichlid. Growing up the only Viejja I knew was the black belt cichlid, but then as a teenager I met the Synspilim cichlid and fell in love. I'm raising one I got from Oasis Aquatics and figured I'd do a show on these gorgeous cichlids also known as the redhead cichlid.
