Chandrayaan is India's lunar exploration program, aimed at studying the Moon's surface and its composition. Launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the program consists of various missions. The first Chandrayaan mission, Chandrayaan-1, was launched in 2008 and made significant discoveries, including the presence of water molecules on the Moon's surface. Chandrayaan-2, launched in 2019, included an orbiter, a lander called Vikram, and a rover called Pragyan. While the lander's attempt to soft-land on the Moon faced challenges and was not fully successful, the orbiter continues to provide valuable data. Chandrayaan missions demonstrate India's growing capabilities in space exploration and contribute to humanity's understanding of the Moon's geology and resources.
