And here starts another saga... We had problems with one of our visas and now we faced difficulties during our stay in South Africa. So, we decided to go to Namibia 😱

The Namib Desert is a striking and unique desert located in Namibia, a country in southwestern Africa.

Namibia Desert:
The Namib Desert stretches along the western coast of Namibia, covering a vast area of approximately 81,000 square kilometers (31,000 square miles). It is characterized by its iconic towering sand dunes, some of which are among the highest in the world. The most famous of these dunes is Dune 45, known for its stunning appearance during sunrise and sunset, when its colors shift dramatically. The desert's unique landscapes also include gravel plains, rugged mountains, and dry riverbeds.

One of the most intriguing features of the Namib Desert is its extreme arid conditions. Many plant and animal species can withstand harsh environments, such as the Welwitschia plant, which can live for over a thousand years, and elephants and lions.

Namibia:
Namibia, situated in southwestern Africa, is a country of remarkable natural beauty and cultural diversity. It gained independence from South Africa in 1990 and has since become known for its stable political environment. Its capital city is Windhoek.

Namibia boasts a range of distinct landscapes beyond the Namib Desert, including the mesmerizing Skeleton Coast with its shipwrecks and seal colonies, the dramatic Fish River Canyon, and the lush Caprivi Strip. The country is also home to diverse wildlife, with Etosha National Park being a prime destination for spotting lions, elephants, giraffes, and various antelope species.

In addition to its natural wonders, Namibia is renowned for its indigenous cultures, including the San people, who are known for their traditional hunter-gatherer way of life, and the Himba people, famous for their distinct red ochre-covered skin and intricate hairstyles.

Tourism plays a significant role in Namibia's economy, with visitors drawn to its stunning landscapes, wildlife, adventure activities like sandboarding and safari tours, and its commitment to eco-friendly practices.

In summary, the Namib Desert and Namibia together offer a captivating blend of ancient desert landscapes, unique flora and fauna, rich cultural heritage, and opportunities for unforgettable experiences.
