PAUL MASON e | VEGAN META STUDY: HDL down; Triglycerides up
http://www.DoctorsToTrust.com
presents episode 1020 | Dr Paul Mason
HVMN podcast
February 2021, Cochran, study :
vegan diet and cardiovascular issues…
Not one randomized, control trial looked at clinical outcomes
Such as: shortness of breath, impaired cognition, heart attacks
Only looked at surrogate markers like blood markers
Result of vegan diets:
HDL decreased and triglycerides increased
The authors acknowledge these changes in direction,
which means vegan diet are not good for our health
LDL also went down, so,
if you still believe the debunked notion
that LDL is bad, then you may see it,
offsets the HDL and triglycerides
Lowering of LDL, however,
is almost certainly associated with
increased cardiovascular risk.
Meta-studies prove this.
BATHUM, 2013 study :
118,000 subjects all over the age of 50
Results: those with highest LDL
had 50% reduced chance of dying
Study excluded those with heart problems,
cholesterol problems on statins,
cardiovascular disease, diabetes
this was healthy, younger population…
Lowest LDL increased all cause mortality by double
