They might be awkward looking, with their long...everything! But there is more to giraffes than meets the eye! These gentle longnecks are more fascinating than you can imagine. Don’t believe us? Here are a few facts about giraffes that you just can’t live without!

- Unlike some other species, both male and female giraffes have two fur-covered horns on their heads. These horns are called ossicones.

- Those spots on their bodies are unique to every giraffe! Just like a human’s fingerprints, no two spot patterns are the same.

- Because they are so tall, giraffes do everything standing. They even sleep and give birth while standing up! Must be tiring…

- Weirdly enough, these animals don’t need to drink a lot of water. Most of the water they consume comes from the plants they eat.

- You might think that giraffes can bend over to the ground with their long necks, but this is not really the case. That’s why they eat from tall plants instead.

- Despite being so huge, they are actually very fast! Giraffes can reach speeds up to 35 miles per hour when running.

- They are the tallest animals on the face of the planet! Their legs alone are usually about six feet long! But we didn’t have to tell you this, it’s obvious.

We hope you found these facts entertaining! Don’t forget to share this educational video with anyone who loves wildlife!
