The 1996 Presidential Election cycle featured incumbent President Bill Clinton, a Democrat, and Senator Bob Dole of Kansas, the Republican nominee. The second and final debate was a 90-minute town hall, where uncommitted voters could ask questions on any topic. Moderated by Jim Lehrer of PBS, it took place on October 16, 1996, in San Diego, California.
