Trump attorneys oppose DA’s request to try all 19 Georgia election defendants together

On Wednesday, an attorney representing former President Donald Trump submitted a motion opposing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ recent request to consolidate all 19 defendants in her case involving alleged election interference in Georgia.

The filing on behalf of Trump urged the judge to uphold the previous ruling that only Kenneth Chesebro, who had requested an expedited trial through a speedy trial motion, should proceed to trial on October 23.

The charges stem from a broad racketeering indictment against Trump and 18 others, alleging their involvement in attempts to overturn the outcome of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, ABC News reported.
