The Marion County Record, a small weekly newspaper in Kansas, was raided by law enforcement officers on August 11, 2023. The raid was conducted under a search warrant signed by a county judge, who alleged that the newspaper had illegally obtained and used personal information about a local business owner. Officers confiscated computers, cellphones, reporting materials, and other items from the newspaper office and the home of its owner and publisher, Eric Meyer.

The raid has been condemned by press freedom advocates, who say it is a violation of the First Amendment. The newspaper has said that it will continue to publish, despite the raid.
