Apollo 11, NASA's historic mission, successfully landed the Lunar Module "Eagle" on the Moon on July 20, 1969. Astronaut Neil Armstrong, the mission commander, became the first person to set foot on the lunar surface, famously saying, "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind." Alongside Buzz Aldrin, Armstrong spent about two and a half hours conducting experiments, collecting samples, and planting the American flag. Their safe return to the Command Module marked a monumental achievement in human exploration, advancing our understanding of space and inspiring generations with their extraordinary feat.
