5 NEW Patterned Variants! Patterns… Nuff Said | ARK Dev Kit

I had a simple vision for this mod, but I wasn’t even sure I’d be able to do it. If you’ve played Atlas (like it or hate it, I still actually like the game), chances are you’ve come across the Horses in that game. To be perfectly honest… I DON’T KNOW if they’re the only creatures this applies to… but Horses have a “unique” feature where, on top of being able to spawn with different colors as well as breeding to get different colors (which isn’t anything new), they’re ALSO able to randomly get different PATTERN regions as well… and this VERY much intrigued me.

As a self-proclaimed “noob” (STILL) to the Dev Kit, I was curious what kind of task it would be to rebuild the material from Atlas that allows these “patterns” to occur… and I think I’ve FINALLY (mostly) done it! It’s not perfect, – and I’ll be EXCLUDING creatures with EXCESSIVE fur or feathers until I can figure out how to get THOSE appropriately integrated – but I’m satisfied with the results so far!

These “variants” are 100% VANILLA and cosmetic ONLY – stats are NOT touched whatsoever. In order to get the BEST and most visually diverse results possible, I’ve reached out to several modders for collaborations with this mod and I’m stoked for y’all to see what variants are NOW possible! Also, they SHOULD be compatible with mods that add buffs like Better Dinos, Shiny Dinos, Rare Sightings, etc.

Currently, This mod has alternate patterns for:
- Equus
Uses both Default & R-Equus Patterns as well as the Aberrant Equus E-Texture

Uses both Default & X-Raptor Patterns as well as the Aberrant Raptor E-Texture
(Mod Collab with: Giga’s Fancy Variants & Primeval Pigments)

Uses both Default & X-Rex Patterns

- Trike
Uses both Default & X-Trike Patterns as well as the Aberrant Trike E-Texture
