This is the perfect Gama Grass field residual to leave after grazing. Never graze Gama Grass shorter than 8" or you may weaken the plant. Gama grass stores most of the plant nutrients for survival in the first 8" above ground. Gama really shines bright in droughts with roots extending 20 feet into the soil profile. Gama Grass is a native warm season grass that thrives in summer heat.
