Hey everyone,
Let’s talk about a couple of things that have been annoying me lately about two different services: Fiverr and Canva.
First, let's talk about Fiverr. If you create a Fiverr account using your Google account, and your Google account name is your real name, like mine is, then there's no way to change your username. So anyone you hire on Fiverr will potentially be able to see your real name.
Fiverr has finally added a customizable display name, but your username can still be displayed in some places. This is a bit annoying, and I wish they would allow us to change our usernames altogether.
The second issue I have is with Canva. I created my main Canva account with a Yahoo email address, but I recently tried to log in with my Gmail address. It created a new Canva account, and there's no way to merge the two accounts. So now I have two separate Canva accounts, and I can't use my Gmail address for my main account because they either can’t or won’t delete the erroneous google account.
I don't understand why these two services don't allow us to merge accounts or change our usernames. It seems like a pretty basic feature, and it's something that a lot of other services offer.
So, to recap, here are my two takeaways:
• Be careful when creating accounts on services like Fiverr and Canva. Consider how you want to use the account before you create it, and make sure you're happy with the username and email address you choose.
• If you do make a mistake, and you end up with two separate accounts, contact the service and see if they can help you merge them.
