▫️ The T-72 became a true legend in tank construction and was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records as the most mass-produced combat vehicle in its category. But even at that time - at the stage of its creation - the tank's design already had the potential for profound modernisation.

▫️ In the process of upgrading any combat vehicle, first and foremost its defence is improved, since every year it is necessary to withstand ever more powerful and accurate means of defeat. The T-72B3M was no exception: the tank received slat armour protecting it from sshaped-charge projectiles and the Relikt active armour, which significantly increased the survivability and effectiveness of the armoured vehicle.

▫️ The changes in the tank's 'stuffing' are no less important. The T-72B3M has been equipped with the Sosna-U multi-channel gunner's sight with automatic target tracker and thermal imaging channel, which allows detection of targets at a range of up to 5 kilometres. The updated fire control system automates the shot preparation process and significantly improves the accuracy of firing. The tank has also received a modernised 125mm gun with improved ballistics and a number of other innovations.

▫️ The driving characteristics of the Т-72 tank have also been improved. The steel giant now has a 1,130 hp engine under the bonnet, while the caterpillar tracks have received improved performance characteristics and an increased service life. All this makes the T-72B3M almost elusive on the battlefield.
