Earth's Evolution in 10 Minutes

The Earth formed about 4.6 billion years ago from a rotating disk of gas and dust surrounding the young Sun.
Particles in this disk began to stick together through collisions, forming planetesimals and eventually protoplanets.
Earth, one of these protoplanets, began to accumulate more material, including heavy elements and water vapor.

In the past few billion years, Earth has been pummeled by asteroids, crashed into other planets and frozen over several times. Not to mention being ruled by all kinds of crazy lifeforms.
