Measuring Antartica on the Google Earth app (mobile)

You can use the Google Earth measuring tool to measure the perimeter and area of any spot on the "Globe". You will see what it looks like when I measure Australia and if you do any other country or continent the end result will look similar to Australia, BUT... you see something a little different when you measure Antarctica. Very strange.
