Because baking soda binds odors! And we can also use this property in the refrigerator. To do this, simply take a small bowl and fill it with some baking soda. 25-30 grams should be quite sufficient for this. And then you just put this bowl in your fridge! The soda will now bind the odors and so you will no longer be surprised by an unpleasant smell when you open the refrigerator. The whole thing even lasts for some time.
