Over time, it happens that the freezer freezes more and more. The drawers can then no longer be pulled out or pushed in so easily and also the space in the freezer becomes smaller and smaller. That's why you should de-ice it regularly. And how that works best, I show you in this video!

To do this, you should turn off the freezer. Now you can put the things in the freezer in a cool bag, take them to relatives or friends or if it is cold enough outside, just put them outside.

Now you can remove the drawers so you can clean them. I also put a towel at the very bottom of the freezer and a slightly larger casserole dish so that most of the ice or water goes right in here. Now, I also prepared a pot of hot water and put that in the freezer as well. Because with this we accelerate the defrosting process and have the freezer defrosted faster.

Now you can clean the drawers with some dishwashing liquid and hot water and dry them afterwards. After some time you can remove a few pieces of ice. Take something plastic like a spoon or a spatula and carefully break off the ice.

When the ice has been successfully removed from the freezer, you can wipe it out with a damp cloth and then wipe everything dry. In the next step, you can put all the drawers back into the freezer. Now turn on the appliance again so that the freezer starts to cool down. When it is cool enough, you can put the food back in here and you have successfully defrosted your freezer.
