Do you have a cough and want to do something about it? Then just make your own cough syrup. In this video I show you an old but very good recipe!

Here's what you need for your DIY cough syrup:

200 g sugar
300 ml water
6 bay leaves (dried)
7 tsp sage
2 tea bags of chamomile tea

The first step is to melt the sugar in a saucepan on the stove. Put the stove on medium heat and wait until the sugar turns brown and becomes liquid. As soon as everything is liquid, you can add the water. This will quickly make the mixture hard again and it will fizz really loud. Now stir carefully until everything is liquid again.

In another bowl you should now chop the bay leaves, add the sage and chamomile tea. Stir everything well. Now add this mixture to the pot, put a lid on it and let it boil for about 3 minutes. Put everything aside and wait for 10-15 minutes.

When everything has cooled down well, you can pour this mixture through a sieve into a suitable container. You can now put the homemade cough syrup in the refrigerator and take a spoonful every now and then when needed. The cough syrup will keep in the refrigerator for several weeks!
