The 1619 project will never tell you about, "the first great African man in America."
He became a folk hero in Spain and legend in New Spain. He was a slave, but due to fate he became a famous faith-healer among the natives, and then a full blown conquistador into the Southwestern United States in search of a legendary city.
The Narvaez Expedition with only 4 survivors returning back to New Spain, they witnessed Native life unlike any other expedition.
