Oak Hill Church of Christ 8-27-23 Message: "How To Be A Hero"

God says: "my strength is made perfect in weakness." J.R.R. Tolkien observed: “Darkness must pass; a new day will come, and when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer.”

We have our share of darkness in the world today. Of sinister forces arrayed against Good, who are willing to foist all manner of corruption upon the innocent, and deceive the pure.

It is in times like these which Heroes are most needed, and most obvious. Like those heroic figures in the Bible, we, too, can undertake a journey of selfless dedication to Good and Righteousness, of opposing evil and darkness.

God's instruction for our way forward as heroes is to constantly and consistently improve upon ourselves, to use Jesus as our ideal and reach toward Christ-likeness. By discovering the beauty that God has put in the world in so many ways, we can, ourselves, become beautiful.

God only knows how beautiful we might become as we dedicate ourselves to living as He commands, heroically resisting evil, opposing it; rescuing the lost, and saving the innocent in His Name.
