Watch the "Ring of Fire" Sun powered Overshadowing (NASA Broadcast Trailer)

On Oct. 14, 2023, a "ring of fire," or annular, sunlight based shroud will go from Oregon coast to the Inlet of Mexico. An annular sun powered overshadow happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, yet is simply far away enough in its circle that the Sun isn't totally covered — making an enormous, brilliant ring overhead.
