Florida storm: Idalia to intensify into major hurricane ahead of landfall

Floridians on the Gulf Coast and the Panhandle are hoping for the best as Tropical Storm Idalia threatens to make landfall as a major hurricane late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

The Tampa Airport is officially closing as of 12:01 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The storm is on course to hit that region, as many Floridians are still recovering from Hurricane lan, which hit just 11 months ago.
