Migrant Supporters Attempt to Burn American Flag at NYC Protest

Counter-protesters in support of migrants gathered to oppose a rally against new migrant shelters in NYC today, where former GOP nominee for NYC Mayor Curtis Sliwa led a civil disobedience action outside Gracie Mansion.

Clashes between opposing sides occurred early Sunday afternoon, with multiple arrests made as NYPD moved to separate opposing groups.

Counter-protesters attempted to burn an American flag, before stomping on and throwing the flag outside the Mayor’s residence.

Tensions subsided a bit after police brought in more barricades to separate groups, with the rally against new migrant shelters eventually proceeding here in NYC.
