Disaster-resilient homes for Pakistan’s flood-hit villagers

In the wake of unprecedented floods in Pakistan’s southern Sindh province last year, about 1,000 huts designed by Yasmeen Lari – the country’s first certified female architect – were built for the victims. The seemingly simple exteriors of the huts mask innovative designs that not only make them resistant to flooding, but more sustainable and green as well. Emma Jehle reports.
