Canning jars are not always so easy to open. That's because of the vacuum. But once that's eliminated, you can open any canning jar with wonderful ease. To let the air escape, there are a whole bunch of tricks. But which of them really works quickly and easily, I show you in this video.

Surely you know the tricks of poking a hole in the lid with a knife. But then the food in the jar molds much faster. Or you can use a knife to pry under the lid so that the vacuum escapes. But that often breaks the knife, too.

But there is a much easier trick to open a canning jar. Press with your palms on the narrow sides of the lid, knot your fingers and then press the palms together. The air should already escape from the jar and you can open it super easily and quickly.
