NASA's Lucy mission is assessing its solar array deployment in a thermal vacuum chamber at Lockheed Martin Space, Littleton, Colorado. With each circular array spanning about 24 feet (7.3 m), they'll fuel Lucy's unprecedented 12-year journey to Jupiter's Trojan asteroids, covering a record-breaking 530 million miles (853 million km) from the Sun. These expansive arrays will harness vital sunlight for the spacecraft as it ventures through deep space.
