Greek & Covid Mythology in Eris & Omicron

"Scare the pants off them" said "Lockdown Lord" Matt Hancock.  When people suggested the first variant, Omicron, was sending a message, that was mocked as a conspiracy theory.  Now they name a variant after the mythological daughter who initiated the Trojan War.  Is it a Trojan horse?
