Initial Thoughts on Trails from Zero (First 15 Hours)

Welcome to my initial thoughts on The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero! This game was developed by Nihom Falcom, published by NIS America, and initially released in 2010, but only in Japan until it finally received a worldwide release in 2022 thanks in part to the 2020 Geofront fan translation, which was used as a reference by NIS America for their official translation. There will be minor spoilers in this video for the prologue and first half of chapter one. I tried to dance around spoilers, but I couldn't help myself. After playing and loving the Trails in the Sky trilogy, I couldn't wait to dive back into the Trails/Kiseki series and am absolutely loving my time with Trails from Zero so far. It took me a little while to warm up to Lloyd and the rest of the Special Support Section because I spent so much time with Estelle and the rest of the cast from the Sky trilogy, but I am really starting to appreciate all of the new characters. Trails from Zero is a major step up from the Sky trilogy just in terms of how the gameplay works with improved menus, combat, cooking, etc. We'll see where the story goes, but as of right now, Trails in the Sky the 3rd is still my favorite. If you played the Sky trilogy, then you will feel right at home and appreciate all of the quality of life improvements in this game.
