Wat Yai Sawang Arom Riverside Market - Nonthanaburi Thailand 2023- Local Market on the Chaophraya

A great place to stop by and see a locals market along the Chaophraya River in the Pak Kret area of Nonthanaburi. Each day starting at 8:00 in the morning vendors set up and sell their products. The market is open until early afternoon.

It’s not a floating market as people imagine but a market set up on the river bank. Most markets are like this now with the boats being replaced with cars and trucks.

You can find fresh fruits and vegetables as well as snacks and ready made dishes to eat there or take home.

For the locals they shop here and then will pay respects to the Sukhothai era Buddha and Wat Yai Sawang Arom. The market is right next to the temple in the parking lot.

This is a market that is not visited by tourists but would be a nice addition to a trip to Koh Kret. The island is on the opposite side of the river from here. On weekends there is also a free boat that leaves at noon that pay homage to 9 temples around the island of Koh Kret.
