Jumping From Space
Red Bull Stratos Mission:
Felix Baumgartner's jump, known as the Red Bull Stratos mission, took place on October 14, 2012. During this event, Baumgartner, an Austrian skydiver and BASE jumper, ascended to an altitude of approximately 128,100 feet (39,000 meters) in a helium-filled balloon before making a freefall jump back to Earth. This jump set several records, including the highest altitude jump, the highest speed achieved by a human in freefall, and the first person to break the sound barrier without vehicular power.
Baumgartner's jump was a carefully planned and executed event, involving a team of experts in various fields including aerospace engineering, medicine, and safety. The primary objectives of the mission were to gather data for future space travel and exploration and to test new technologies that could aid astronauts in emergencies.
