Fabric softener always smells so nice and makes the laundry really soft, right? In principle, that's true, but do you know what's in fabric softener? Here I'll show you and explain why I don't use fabric softener anymore and what I use instead to make my laundry really nice and soft.

Because fabric softener contains animal surfactants, which is just slaughterhouse waste. Kind of gross when you imagine washing your clothes in slaughterhouse waste, right?

But what alternative to fabric softener is there? Baking soda! Mix 100 ml with 2 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda, stir well and pour the mixture into the fabric softener compartment of your washing machine. If you want it to still smell good, you can add a few drops of an essential oil of your choice.

When your laundry is done, it will also be nice and soft and smell good, but won't have any butcher's scraps on it. So be sure to give this alternative to fabric softener a try.
