The Kootenay Climate Covenant

After months of engaging in good faith with Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) in their Climate Action Plan consultation, throughout which open dialogue among the community was being stifled, the Kootenay Covenant was conceived. This is the message from the people of the RDCK for their elected representatives and administrators: We do not share the assurance that this 'guidance' plan will not evolve into unwanted regulatory demands in our future. Plan language and framework are not a match for our local situation. We do not need superfluous 'packaging' that doesn't serve us. We therefore request that the Board exit this plan.
