assess the environment...
-how fit this this person?
-if your metabolic house is out of order
then, no pregnancy
MOST COMMON:
-infertility? PCOS & ED
-driver? insulin resistance
"Body saying: We Are Not OK"
-as insulin resistance IMPROVES
-fertility returns

Insulin resistance in pregnancy is NORMAL...
but, if taken too far: problematic!
-pregnant? mom or dad had T2D?
-must be very careful
-some insulin resistance during
pregnancy is normal, but if allows
insulin resistance to get very bad...
-will get resistant to own insulin
-glucose will climb, leading to
gestational diabetes

Gestational diabetes consequences:
-will very likely develop T2D later
-and BABY much more likely also
Due to?
-perhaps because baby is developing
in environment of high glucose & insulin
Therefore becomes hard-wired to
seek high glucose & insulin in life
-eating to develop type 2 diabetes
