Today we ask and answer Should we live of a life of comfort or a life that bears fruit? In our previous podcasts in this series we have asked and answered, "What is the big deal about God?" "Why should I want to go deeper?" "How to take back our AUTHORITY. "

Today ask yourself what is stopping you from growing into a deeper relationship with Him?
We will also share why it is to our greatest benefit to dive deep with Him.

I believe that many believers in Christ are choosing comfort which is stopping us and hindering us from bearing fruit. I think there are many who say yes I beleive in Jesus but live a life of "fan-ship' vs a life of follow-ship with him. They are on the sidelines vs being in the game so to speak. Think about it, even Satan knows Jesus is true and exists, how are we different?

There is a great true story to look at and learn from in the book of Matthew 19:16. Many know this story as the, "Young rich ruler."

A man approaches Jesus and asks Him, "what must I do to possess eternal life?"
Jesus lists quite a few things. Things the man already does/did. I believe Jesus already knew that the man did thiese things but was setting the stage for what He is about to teach us. The man said what then am I lacking as I already observe this? Jesus mentions, "spirtual maturity" "self sacrificing character" "sell what you have."

Jesus tells the man to let everything go and to follow Him. Let go of your comfort. Let go of your safety net.

Now ask yourself. What is your comfort? What is your safety net? What is your treasure? When we choose to stay comfortable we can't grow.

As a gym owner and trainer I always tell people, "Nothing grows -inside- our comfort zone! (I misspoke in the podcast). The magic happenss outside of our comfort zone." This same rule applies to our spirtual growth.

"The swimmer who doesn't fear sinking is the one who will always succeed." Do not fear.

This story in the bible is not saying Jesus wants us to be poor, or to lack. He promises us the opposite and He promises to never leave or forake us.

If we stay in the shallow end of the pool - and refuse to swim deep/ dig deep in our faith and get uncomfortable - how can we receive what the Lord has for us unless we grow with him and in order to grow vertically spiritually we must grow deeper roots with Him.

As a physical person we grow. Mentally we grow. Emotionally we are to grow and mature. Even so spiritually with our creator, savior, and helper.

Fear keeps us in our comfort. Fear keeps us in a state of loss. The bible says do not fear 365 times.
Matthew 10:29 talks about the He takes care of the sparrows and that how much so will He take care of us when we are of more value to Him than the sparrow. He will take care of us. We will not lack.

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong, courageous and firm. Fear not nor be in terror before them for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.

Speak this word over yourself because it is truth and it is powerful and it is how we combat the evil tactics of the enemy moment by moment and day by day.

The enemy is unrelenting. He is not all powerful but he studies us and watches us and what to bring us down in defeat and despair and ultimatley destroy us.

Step out of your comfort zone and step forward into growing deep in your relationship with Jesus. You won't regret it.
