Finally, the version (sans backwards intro) that should have appeared on the band's first record 33 yrs. ago. Background vocals and harmonies sung as if lives depended on it; no need for excessive reverb to be administered to the recording to hide all of that pick-scratching on the bass' strings, resulting in a VERY muddy mix. I wanted the band on it at all costs - and got what I paid for. I am still proud of the original recording as a marker for a moment in time, and am glad I had a band to record it with and play live with, but I will no longer have to hear this simultaneously in my head every time I listen to the version on that record. It may not be perfect - the voice and playing may not be what it was 33 yrs. ago - but overall, THIS was what I was looking for. Neither the Tonebenders (all chops, wrong feel), nor the original line-up of Bone Orchard (right feel, but beside the drummer, no chops) were able to give me this, so I finally got around to doing it myself. At least 2 more from that record will also get makeovers in the near future. Amen.

Lyrics

They live together yet live alone,
But they'll never leave 'cause there's no place like home.
They cling like vines to selfish hearts that don't amount to much
But it's all they've got.

Psychotic Attraction, it's a fatal reaction,
They're crazy for each other.
A neurotic obsession with the fear of rejection will never let them live in peace.
But they don't care.

A dozen roses, some broken bones
Litter the place that they call home.
A fragile line between love and hate
Crossed too often to still separate.

Psychotic Attraction, it's a fatal reaction,
They're crazy for each other.
A neurotic obsession with the fear of rejection will never let them live in peace.
But they don't care.

Remember, (dismember) what they felt for each other.
(Disaster), the plaster has taken such a beating,
The china (and crystal) in their hands is so lethal.
Homicide (or suicide), they'll love each other to death

Portrait's crooked up on the wall,
But not half as crooked as what they call love.
And all is fair in love and war,
But which it is, they're not quite sure

Psychotic Attraction, it's a fatal reaction,
They're crazy for each other.
A neurotic obsession with the fear of rejection will never let them live in peace.
But they don't care.
