Tonebender-era composition played as the second song in the Bone Orchard live set every show throughout the band's three year (live) existence. It is FINALLY getting its due as a studio recording. The song's lyrics are actually an ode to flatulence while masquerading as a description of the physical manifestations of love-at-first-sight. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone ever got the joke - they just thought it was about "love". Oh well......

All instruments and vocals courtesy of M. Corcoran (the "last man standing").

Lyrics:

It’s a feeling that comes over me quite suddenly.
Rarely gives me time to react.
And sometimes, it just gets so embarrassing.
I’m so relieved when the moment’s passed.

Love is a gas
Love is a gas.

People stare, but I just stand there smiling.
An emotion, it seems, I just can’t suppress.
And they don’t like it when I express myself so publicly.
But they’re just jealous ‘cause I felt it first.

Love is a gas,
Love is a gas.

Sometimes I’m so afraid to let the real me shine thru. (Let it out, let it out.)
So I close my eye and keep it in so I don’t blow my cool. (Let it out, let it out.)
But I don’t need to strike a pose to come smelling like a rose
When I let what’s inside out, I gotta let what’s inside out, yeah.

My friends think it’s just a passing fancy
But I know it’ll linger for a while.
And when it’s gone, another one soon comes along,
To take the place of one I held so long.

Love is a gas.
Love is a gas.
Love is a gas.
Love is a gas.
