LIVE: Rally marks 60th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s historic 'March on Washington'

Live from Washington DC on Saturday, August 26, as thousands are expected to join a rally to mark the 60th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s 'March on Washington' and his historic 'I Have a Dream' speech.

The MLK Coalition commemorates the date in its fight against hate and for social justice. People will gather at the Lincoln Memorial for a special programme of events, followed by a march through the streets of the nation’s capital.

The original 'March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom' on August 28, 1963, demanded civil and economic rights for African Americans, ending with Dr King’s famous speech where he called for an end to racism.
