God's Good News to Those Harmed by Unrepentant Oppressors. (Pt. 13 in the Series on Forgiveness)

It is all too common for those who've been significantly harmed by oppressors and perpetrators to be told that they need to "forgive and forget," and show love toward everyone, no matter what. But, is that true? Is that what the Bible teaches? Is that what God requires of the injured party, while the unrepentant perpetrator walks free? What's the truth? What is God's message to those who've been seriously harmed by oppressors? It is one of good news... that He will take up their cause against the oppressor.

In the continuation of his in depth series on 'Forgiveness: What it is vs. what it is NOT,' Jon K. Uhler, LPC, looks at the Biblical concept of how God feels about the kinds of pain that moves God's heart on behalf of the injured, and against the perpetrator and oppressor. The good news for the Survivors is that God will act on their behalf, in order to show them that He cares deeply about their pain. Your pain matters to God. He will never ask you to "forget about it," because He doesn't forget about your pain.
